FPSO
An FPSO, or Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit, is a type of vessel used in the offshore oil and gas industry. It is designed to process and store hydrocarbons extracted from underwater wells. The FPSO can be anchored to the seabed and is equipped with facilities to separate oil, gas, and water, making it a crucial component in offshore production.
These units are particularly useful in deepwater locations where traditional drilling platforms are not feasible. Once the oil is processed, it can be stored on the FPSO until it is offloaded to tankers for transportation to shore, ensuring efficient resource management in remote areas.
