FIFA World Cup trophy
The FIFA World Cup trophy is awarded to the winning team of the FIFA World Cup, the premier international soccer tournament. Designed by Italian artist Silvio Gazzaniga, the trophy stands 36.8 centimeters tall and is made of 18-carat gold. It features two human figures holding up the Earth, symbolizing the global nature of the competition.
The trophy weighs approximately 6.1 kilograms and has a base made of malachite. Since its introduction in 1974, the trophy has been awarded to various national teams, with Brazil being the first to win it three times, allowing them to keep the original trophy permanently.
