FIFA World Cup Trophy
The FIFA World Cup Trophy is awarded to the winning team of the FIFA World Cup, the premier international soccer tournament. Made of 18-carat gold, the trophy stands 36.8 centimeters tall and weighs approximately 6.1 kilograms. It features two human figures holding up the Earth, symbolizing the global nature of the sport.
First introduced in 1930, the trophy has undergone changes over the years. The original trophy, known as the Jules Rimet Trophy, was replaced in 1974 due to theft and damage. The current design is the result of a competition won by Italian artist Silvio Gazzaniga.
