F-type Star
An F-type star is a type of main-sequence star that has a surface temperature between 6,000 and 7,600 degrees Celsius. These stars are typically brighter and larger than G-type stars, like our Sun, and have a yellow-white hue. F-type stars are known for their strong hydrogen lines in their spectra, indicating active hydrogen fusion in their cores.
F-type stars have a lifespan of about 2 to 3 billion years, which is shorter than that of G-type stars but longer than that of B-type stars. They can host planetary systems, and some may have conditions suitable for life, making them of interest in the search for extraterrestrial life.
