F Minor Scale
The F Minor Scale is a musical scale that consists of the notes F, G, A♭, B♭, C, D♭, and E♭. It is known for its dark and somber sound, often used in various genres of music, including classical and jazz. The scale is built on the pattern of whole and half steps, specifically: whole, half, whole, whole, half, whole, whole.
In addition to the natural form, the F Minor Scale has two variations: the harmonic minor and the melodic minor. The harmonic minor raises the seventh note (E♭ to E) to create a leading tone, while the melodic minor raises both the sixth and seventh notes (D♭ to D and E♭ to E) when ascending, and reverts to the natural form when descending.
