Explicit Memories
Explicit memories are types of long-term memories that involve conscious recall of information. They can be divided into two categories: episodic memory, which pertains to personal experiences and specific events, and semantic memory, which involves facts and general knowledge. These memories are often formed through learning and can be easily articulated.
Unlike implicit memories, which are unconscious and automatic, explicit memories require active thought and effort to retrieve. They play a crucial role in our ability to remember important details, such as names, dates, and experiences, allowing us to navigate our daily lives effectively.
