Exmoor Ponies
Exmoor Ponies are a rare breed of pony native to the Exmoor region in southwest England. They are known for their sturdy build, long manes, and distinctive dark brown or black coats. These ponies are well-adapted to the rugged terrain and harsh weather conditions of their natural habitat, making them resilient and hardy animals.
Originally used for farm work and as pack animals, Exmoor Ponies are now primarily valued for their conservation grazing. They help maintain the landscape by controlling vegetation and promoting biodiversity in the Exmoor National Park. Their gentle temperament also makes them suitable for riding and companionship.
