Executive Departments
Executive Departments are the primary units of the U.S. federal government responsible for implementing and enforcing laws. Each department focuses on specific areas of public policy, government function, and service delivery. There are currently 15 executive departments, including the Department of Defense, Department of Education, and Department of Health and Human Services.
Each department is headed by a Secretary, who is a member of the President's Cabinet. These leaders advise the President and help manage their respective departments. The executive departments play a crucial role in the daily operations of the government and in addressing the needs of the American people.
