Exclamation Marks
An exclamation mark is a punctuation symbol that looks like this: “!”. It is used to express strong emotions, excitement, or emphasis in a sentence. For example, you might say, “Watch out!” to convey urgency or surprise. Exclamation marks can also be used in commands, such as “Stop!” to indicate a strong directive.
In writing, exclamation marks should be used sparingly to maintain their impact. Overusing them can make text feel overly dramatic or cluttered. They are commonly found in informal writing, such as text messages or social media posts, where conveying emotion quickly is often important.
