Evariste Ndayishimiye
Evariste Ndayishimiye is a Burundian politician who became the President of Burundi in June 2020. He succeeded Pierre Nkurunziza after winning the presidential election held in May 2020. Ndayishimiye is a member of the National Council for the Defense of Democracy-Forces for the Defense of Democracy (CNDD-FDD) party, which has been in power since 2005.
Before his presidency, Ndayishimiye held various government positions, including Minister of the Interior. His leadership has focused on national unity, economic development, and improving relations with international partners. Ndayishimiye's administration aims to address the challenges facing Burundi, including poverty and political instability.
