European Bee-eater
The European Bee-eater is a colorful bird known for its vibrant plumage, which features shades of green, blue, yellow, and orange. This species typically measures about 25 to 30 centimeters in length and has a long, pointed beak adapted for catching insects, particularly bees and wasps. They are often found in open habitats, such as fields and riverbanks, where they can easily spot their prey.
These birds are social and often nest in colonies, digging tunnels in sandy banks for their nests. The European Bee-eater is migratory, traveling from Europe to Africa during the winter months. Their distinctive call and graceful flight make them a favorite among birdwatchers.
