Europäische Rat
The Europäische Rat, or European Council, is a key institution of the European Union (EU) that brings together the heads of state or government of the member countries. It plays a crucial role in setting the EU's overall political direction and priorities, addressing major issues, and making important decisions on policies.
The European Council meets at least four times a year, and its meetings are often referred to as summits. It is distinct from the European Commission and the European Parliament, which handle the day-to-day operations and legislative processes of the EU, respectively.
