Euridice
Euridice is a character from ancient Greek mythology, known primarily as the wife of Orpheus. She is often depicted as a symbol of love and loss, as her story revolves around her tragic death and Orpheus's quest to retrieve her from the underworld.
In the myth, after Euridice dies from a snake bite, Orpheus descends into the Underworld to bring her back. He charms Hades and Persephone with his music, gaining permission to take her home, but he must not look back at her until they reach the surface. Unfortunately, he looks back, and Euridice is lost to him forever.
