Estuarine Crocodile
The Estuarine Crocodile, also known as the Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus), is the largest living reptile, found in coastal areas, rivers, and estuaries across Southeast Asia, Australia, and parts of the Indian subcontinent. They are known for their adaptability to both saltwater and freshwater environments, making them highly versatile predators.
These crocodiles can grow up to 23 feet (7 meters) in length and weigh over 2,200 pounds (1,000 kg). They have a powerful bite and a varied diet that includes fish, birds, and mammals. The Estuarine Crocodile plays a crucial role in its ecosystem as a top predator, helping to maintain the balance of aquatic life.
