Estonian Counties
Estonia is divided into 15 counties, known as maakonnad. Each county has its own unique characteristics, culture, and administrative functions. The largest county by area is Tartu County, while Harju County, which includes the capital city Tallinn, is the most populous.
The counties serve as important local government units, managing various services such as education, transportation, and public safety. Each county is further divided into smaller municipalities, which help to facilitate local governance and community engagement. This structure allows for effective management of resources and services across the country.
