Essam El-Hadary
Essam El-Hadary is a retired Egyptian football goalkeeper, widely regarded as one of the best in African football history. Born on January 15, 1973, in Kafr El-Sheikh, Egypt, he gained fame for his exceptional skills, leadership, and longevity in the sport. El-Hadary played for several clubs, including Al Ahly SC, where he won numerous domestic and international titles.
He is best known for his remarkable performances with the Egypt national team, particularly during the Africa Cup of Nations, where he helped secure three consecutive titles from 2006 to 2010. El-Hadary also made history in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, becoming the oldest player to participate in the tournament at the age of 45.
