Erovnuli Liga
The Erovnuli Liga is the top professional football league in Georgia. Established in 1990, it features clubs from various cities competing for the championship title. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Erovnuli Liga 2, the second tier of Georgian football.
The league typically consists of 10 teams that play each other in a round-robin format. Each team plays 36 matches in a season, with points awarded for wins and draws. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion, while the bottom teams face relegation to the lower division.
