Equerry
An equerry is a person, often a royal or high-ranking official, who is responsible for the care and management of horses, particularly those used by members of the royal family. This role includes overseeing the stables, ensuring the horses are well-fed and groomed, and coordinating their training and exercise. Equerries may also accompany their charges during public appearances or events.
In addition to horse care, an equerry often serves as an aide-de-camp, assisting with various duties related to the royal household. This position is traditionally associated with the British monarchy, where equerries are appointed from the military or other distinguished backgrounds, reflecting their importance in royal ceremonies and functions.
