Epimenides
Epimenides was a philosopher and poet from the ancient Greek island of Crete, known for his paradoxical statement, "All Cretans are liars." He lived around the 6th century BCE and is often associated with the concept of self-reference in logic. His work contributed to discussions in philosophy, particularly in the study of truth and belief.
In addition to his philosophical contributions, Epimenides was also considered a prophet and a religious figure. He is credited with various writings, including hymns and oracles, which reflect the beliefs and culture of his time. His influence can be seen in later philosophical discussions, especially in the works of Plato and Aristotle.
