Entoptic Phenomena
Entoptic phenomena are visual effects that originate within the eye itself, rather than from external sources. These occurrences can include seeing floaters, which are tiny specks or strands that drift across the field of vision, or experiencing flashes of light. They are often more noticeable in bright light or when looking at a plain background.
These phenomena are typically harmless and result from the interaction of light with the structures of the eye, such as the vitreous humor or retina. While they can be distracting, they are a normal part of visual perception and usually do not indicate any underlying health issues.
