Energy East
Energy East was a proposed oil pipeline project in Canada that aimed to transport crude oil from Alberta to New Brunswick. The pipeline was designed to span approximately 4,600 kilometers, connecting oil sands production areas to refineries and export facilities on the east coast.
The project was initiated by TransCanada Corporation and faced various challenges, including regulatory hurdles and opposition from environmental groups and Indigenous communities. In 2017, TransCanada announced the suspension of the project, citing changing market conditions and the need for further consultations.
