Empress Maria Anna of Spain
Empress Maria Anna of Spain was born on September 7, 1634, in Madrid, Spain. She was the daughter of King Philip IV of Spain and Maria Anna of Austria. In 1650, she married Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor, becoming Empress of the Holy Roman Empire.
Maria Anna played a significant role in the political landscape of her time, supporting her husband in his reign. She was known for her piety and dedication to her family, having several children, including Joseph I, Holy Roman Emperor and Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor. Maria Anna passed away on May 16, 1696.
