Emperor Scorpion
The Emperor Scorpion (Pandinus imperator) is one of the largest scorpion species, typically reaching lengths of 8 inches (20 cm). Native to the tropical rainforests of West Africa, it has a shiny black exoskeleton and large pincers, which it uses for hunting and defense. Despite its intimidating appearance, the Emperor Scorpion's venom is relatively mild and poses little threat to humans.
These scorpions are nocturnal and prefer to hide under rocks or in burrows during the day. They primarily feed on insects and other small invertebrates. As a popular pet, the Emperor Scorpion is often kept in terrariums, where it requires a warm, humid environment to thrive.
