Emperor Heraclius
Emperor Heraclius ruled the Byzantine Empire from 610 to 641 AD. He is known for his military campaigns against the Persian Empire, which culminated in the successful recapture of the True Cross. Heraclius also reformed the empire's administration and military structure, introducing the theme system, which helped defend against external threats.
