Emperor Go-Reizei
Emperor Go-Reizei was the 96th emperor of Japan, reigning from 1155 to 1158. He was born on June 18, 1155, and was the son of Emperor Go-Shirakawa. His reign was marked by the influence of the Fujiwara clan and the ongoing power struggles between the imperial court and the samurai class.
Go-Reizei's reign was relatively short, lasting only three years, and he abdicated in favor of his younger brother, Emperor Go-Sanjō. After his abdication, he lived a quiet life and was known for his interest in poetry and the arts, contributing to the cultural landscape of the time.
