Emma Darwin
Emma Darwin was an English woman born on May 2, 1808, in Maer, Staffordshire. She was the wife of the famous naturalist Charles Darwin and played a significant role in his life and work. Emma was a supportive partner, helping him with his research and managing their household while raising their children.
Emma was also a member of the prominent Darwin family, which included her grandfather, the famous potter Josiah Wedgwood. She shared a close relationship with her husband, often discussing his theories, including evolution and natural selection. Emma Darwin passed away on October 7, 1896.
