Emiliano Zapata
Emiliano Zapata was a prominent Mexican revolutionary leader who fought for land reform and the rights of peasants during the early 20th century. Born in 1879 in the state of Morelos, he became a symbol of the struggle against oppression and inequality. Zapata believed that land should belong to those who worked it, famously rallying behind the slogan "Tierra y Libertad" (Land and Liberty).
Zapata led a powerful movement known as the Zapatista Army of National Liberation, which aimed to reclaim land from wealthy landowners. His efforts were crucial in the Mexican Revolution, which sought to address social injustices and transform the country. Today, Zapata is remembered as a hero of the people and an enduring icon of resistance.
