Embossing and Debossing
Embossing and debossing are two techniques used to create raised or recessed designs on surfaces, typically paper, leather, or metal. In embossing, a design is pressed into the material, resulting in a raised effect that stands out. This technique is often used for decorative purposes, such as on business cards, invitations, or book covers.
In contrast, debossing involves pressing the design into the material, creating a sunken effect. This method is commonly used for branding, such as logos on products or packaging. Both techniques add texture and visual interest, enhancing the overall appearance of the item.
