Embedded Questions
Embedded questions are questions that are included within a statement or another question. They often begin with words like "what," "where," "who," or "how," but they do not require a question mark at the end. For example, in the sentence "I wonder what time the meeting starts," the embedded question is "what time the meeting starts."
These questions are useful for adding information without interrupting the flow of a sentence. They can also make speech and writing sound more formal. For instance, saying "Can you tell me where the nearest station is?" incorporates the question smoothly into the request.
