Elmer Iseler
Elmer Iseler was a prominent Canadian conductor and music educator, known for his significant contributions to choral music. Born on November 13, 1927, in Toronto, he founded the Elmer Iseler Singers in 1979, a professional choir that gained recognition for its performances and recordings.
Iseler was also a professor at York University and served as the conductor of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. His work helped elevate the standard of choral singing in Canada, and he was honored with several awards throughout his career, including the Order of Canada in 1990.
