Elliot Richardson
Elliot Richardson was an American lawyer and politician, born on July 20, 1920, in Boston, Massachusetts. He served in various significant roles, including as the United States Attorney General under President Richard Nixon. Richardson was known for his integrity and commitment to the rule of law.
In 1973, he became notable for his resignation during the Watergate scandal when he refused to fire special prosecutor Archibald Cox as ordered by Nixon. This act of defiance made him a symbol of principled leadership. Richardson later held other positions, including Secretary of Defense and Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
