Ellesmere Island
Ellesmere Island is the northernmost island in Canada and part of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. It covers an area of about 196,235 square kilometers, making it the third-largest island in Canada. The island is known for its rugged terrain, glaciers, and unique wildlife, including polar bears and muskoxen.
The island is largely uninhabited, with only a small research community at Alert, one of the northernmost permanently inhabited places in the world. Ellesmere Island is also home to the Aulavik National Park, which features stunning landscapes and diverse ecosystems, attracting scientists and adventurers alike.
