Elizabeth Glaser
Elizabeth Glaser was an American activist known for her work in raising awareness about the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Born on March 11, 1947, she became a prominent figure after contracting the virus through a blood transfusion during childbirth. Her experience led her to advocate for research and support for those affected by the disease.
In 1988, she co-founded the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, which focuses on preventing pediatric HIV infection and eliminating pediatric AIDS. Glaser's efforts significantly contributed to the understanding and treatment of HIV/AIDS, making her a key figure in the fight against the disease until her passing in 1994.
