Elizabeth Farnese
Elizabeth Farnese was born on November 25, 1692, in Parma, Italy. She was the daughter of Francesco Farnese, Duke of Parma, and Dorothea Sophie of Neuburg. In 1714, she married Philip V of Spain, becoming the Queen consort of Spain. Her marriage was politically motivated, aimed at strengthening ties between Spain and Italy.
As queen, Elizabeth Farnese played a significant role in Spanish politics and was known for her intelligence and ambition. She was instrumental in securing the Spanish throne for her sons, Ferdinand VI and Charles III. Elizabeth Farnese passed away on July 11, 1766, leaving a lasting legacy in Spanish history.
