Elephant Nurseries
Elephant nurseries are specialized facilities that care for orphaned or abandoned baby elephants. These nurseries provide a safe environment where young elephants can receive the necessary nutrition, medical care, and social interaction. Trained caregivers, often called elephant keepers, help nurture the calves, ensuring they grow healthy and strong.
In addition to physical care, elephant nurseries focus on emotional well-being. The young elephants learn to socialize with other elephants, which is crucial for their development. Many nurseries also work towards rehabilitating these elephants for eventual release back into the wild, contributing to the conservation of elephant populations.
