Elephant Calf
An elephant calf is a young elephant, typically under the age of three. These calves are born weighing around 200 to 250 pounds and can stand and walk shortly after birth. They rely heavily on their mothers for nourishment, primarily consuming mother's milk during their early months.
Elephant calves are social animals and often stay close to their mothers and other family members. They learn essential survival skills by observing and mimicking the behaviors of adult elephants. As they grow, they begin to eat grass, leaves, and fruits, gradually transitioning to a more varied diet.
