Electrosurgical Generator
An electrosurgical generator is a medical device that uses high-frequency electrical currents to cut tissue or coagulate blood during surgical procedures. It converts electrical energy into a form that can be safely applied to the body, allowing surgeons to perform precise incisions while minimizing bleeding.
The generator typically has various settings to control the intensity and type of current, such as monopolar and bipolar modes. In monopolar mode, the current flows through the patient’s body to a grounding pad, while in bipolar mode, the current passes between two electrodes, reducing the risk of burns to surrounding tissues.
