Electric Ray
The Electric Ray is a type of cartilaginous fish known for its ability to generate electric shocks. Found in warm coastal waters, these rays have flattened bodies and large pectoral fins that help them glide through the water. They primarily feed on small fish and invertebrates, using their electric organs to stun prey.
Electric rays belong to the family Narcinidae and can produce varying levels of electricity, typically ranging from 8 to 220 volts. They are often found resting on the ocean floor, camouflaged against the sand. Despite their ability to deliver shocks, they are generally not dangerous to humans unless provoked.
