Edward Pakenham
Edward Pakenham was a British Army officer born on March 24, 1778, in Ireland. He was the younger brother of Lady Pakenham, who was married to the famous politician Sir Henry Pakenham. Edward is best known for his role in the War of 1812, particularly for leading British forces during the Battle of New Orleans in January 1815.
Pakenham's military career began in the Napoleonic Wars, where he gained experience and recognition. Unfortunately, he was killed in action at the Battle of New Orleans, which was a significant defeat for the British. His death marked the end of his promising military career.
