Edward Harkness
Edward Harkness was an American philanthropist born in 1874. He is best known for his significant contributions to education, particularly in the field of higher education. Harkness was a major benefactor of Yale University, where he funded the construction of several buildings and established the Harkness Fellowship, which allows students from the United Kingdom to study at Yale.
Harkness was also involved in the development of the Harkness Table, a unique round table design that promotes discussion and collaboration in classrooms. His philanthropic efforts extended beyond education, supporting various cultural and social initiatives throughout his life. He passed away in 1940.
