Edgartown Lighthouse
The Edgartown Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located on the eastern side of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. Built in 1828, it was originally constructed to guide ships safely into the harbor. The lighthouse stands 44 feet tall and features a distinctive white tower with a red lantern room.
In 1939, the Edgartown Lighthouse was automated, which means it no longer requires a keeper to operate. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction, offering stunning views of the surrounding area. Visitors can enjoy the nearby beach and take photographs of this iconic structure, which is a symbol of the island's maritime history.
