Edea Dam
The Edea Dam is a significant hydroelectric dam located on the Sanaga River in Cameroon. Completed in 1977, it plays a crucial role in generating electricity for the region, contributing to the national power supply. The dam has a total installed capacity of 1,070 megawatts, making it one of the largest in the country.
The dam also supports irrigation and flood control, benefiting local agriculture and communities. Its reservoir, known as the Edea Reservoir, provides water for various uses, enhancing the livelihoods of nearby residents. The dam is managed by the Electricity Development Corporation of Cameroon.
