East Side Access
East Side Access is a major infrastructure project designed to connect the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) to the Grand Central Terminal in New York City. This project aims to improve transit options for commuters traveling to Manhattan's East Side, reducing travel times and easing congestion in the area.
The project includes the construction of a new tunnel under the East River and a new concourse at Grand Central. Once completed, it will provide direct access for LIRR passengers to one of the busiest transit hubs in the city, enhancing connectivity and supporting economic growth in the region.
