Earth's magnetic field
Earth's magnetic field is a protective shield generated by the movement of molten iron in its outer core. This magnetic field extends from the Earth's interior out into space, forming the magnetosphere, which helps deflect harmful solar radiation and charged particles from the Sun.
The magnetic field has a north and south pole, similar to a bar magnet. It plays a crucial role in navigation, as many animals, including birds, use it to migrate. Additionally, human-made devices like compasses rely on Earth's magnetic field to help determine direction.
