EAS Systems
EAS Systems, or Electronic Article Surveillance systems, are security measures used primarily in retail environments to prevent theft. These systems typically consist of tags or labels attached to merchandise, which trigger alarms at store exits if not properly deactivated or removed during checkout.
When a customer purchases an item, store staff deactivate the tag, allowing the customer to leave without setting off the alarm. EAS systems can vary in technology, including RF (Radio Frequency) and AM (Acoustic Magnetic) systems, each designed to enhance security and reduce losses from shoplifting.
