Dysphotic Zone
The dysphotic zone is a layer of the ocean that lies below the sunlit surface but above the dark depths. This zone typically extends from about 200 meters to 1,000 meters deep. In this area, light diminishes significantly, making it difficult for photosynthesis to occur. As a result, the types of organisms found here are adapted to low-light conditions.
In the dysphotic zone, you can find various marine life, including some species of fish, squid, and jellyfish. These organisms often have unique adaptations, such as bioluminescence, to help them survive in the dark.
