Dye-Based Inks
Dye-based inks are liquid inks that use colorants in the form of dyes to produce vibrant and bright colors. These inks are commonly used in printers, especially for photo printing, because they can create a wide range of colors and smooth gradients. However, they tend to be less water-resistant and may fade over time when exposed to light.
Unlike pigment-based inks, which use solid particles, dye-based inks dissolve in a liquid carrier. This allows for easier absorption into paper, resulting in sharper images. However, this property also makes them more susceptible to smudging and bleeding, especially on non-coated surfaces.
