Durin's Folk
Durin's Folk is a clan of Dwarves in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, known for their deep connection to the mountains and their exceptional skills in mining and metalwork. They are one of the oldest Dwarven clans, descended from Durin the Deathless, the first Dwarf created by the Vala Aulë. This lineage is significant in Dwarven culture, as they believe Durin will be reborn in times of need.
The most famous stronghold of Durin's Folk is Khazad-dûm, also known as Moria, located beneath the Misty Mountains. This ancient city was renowned for its wealth and craftsmanship, particularly in the creation of mithril, a precious metal. However, the clan faced great challenges, including the awakening of the Balrog, which led to their eventual decline and the abandonment of Moria.
