Dungeness Ruins
The Dungeness Ruins are the remnants of a grand mansion located on Cumberland Island, Georgia. Built in the late 19th century by Thomas Carnegie, the brother of industrialist Andrew Carnegie, the estate was known for its impressive architecture and beautiful gardens.
After a fire in 1959, the mansion was left in ruins, but its striking tabby walls and picturesque setting continue to attract visitors. The site is now part of the Cumberland Island National Seashore, where guests can explore the history and natural beauty of the area.
