Dukes of Carinthia
The Dukes of Carinthia were rulers of the historical region of Carinthia, located in present-day Austria. This title emerged in the early Middle Ages, around the 10th century, as the region became part of the Holy Roman Empire. The dukes played a significant role in local governance and the feudal system, overseeing land and resources.
Throughout their reign, the dukes were involved in various political alliances and conflicts, often interacting with neighboring regions like Styria and Tyrol. The title eventually became less significant, and by the late Middle Ages, the dukes were absorbed into larger political entities, leading to the decline of their power.
